June 2016:

Below are a series of academic papers written for my undergaduate degree at McGill University, they range from a variety of fields in Art History, History, and Indigenous Studies on topics ranging from queer/sexuality, contmeproary Indiegnosu economic opportunity, and the visual culture of slavery and black representation.

-in Volume 1, Number 4 is "Queering the Pecuilar Insition: Unearthing Masculine Sexual Violence and Same-Sex Punishment in Slavery" from the course the Visual Culture of Slavery

"We ate Things Not Worth Eating: The Botanical Enigma in Inuit Art" was writen under Dr. Heather Igloliorte for her course at Concordia University, Practices in Inuit Art 

"Big Winnings Up in Smoke: Tribal Gaming and Indigenous Tobbacco Industries in the "New Guilded Age"" was writen under Dr. Lenord Moore, for an Honours Seminar class on the New/Second Guilded Age in American Society

"Preserving the Past, Colonialism and Affect: Responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission at the Archives of Ontario, Government of Ontario Art Collection"​ was my Art History thesis written under Julia Skelly, and drew from my two year work experience overseeing the GOAC collection around Queens Park and the province. 

"The Freeing of Charlotte, 1798: Panic Amongst the Peculiar Insitituion in British North America" is a paper written about Canadian slavery, Panis and Black under Michael Hamon for a British North America Seminar

"Contesting Gender in Indiegnous Contemporary Art" was written under artist Hannah Claus while instructing Indigenous Contemporary Art

'"Lame Hip","Limp Wrist": Homosexuality and Disability in Charles Demuth’s Experience in the New York Avant-Garde' was written under Dr. Adair Rounthwaite for the course Modern Art and Theory WWI-WWII

"Queering Psychoanalysis: The Queer Unconscious and Contemporary Art" was written for the course Critical Issues in Contemporary Art taught by Dr. Milena Tomic

"Take it Off!: Blackness and Burlesque" was written under Dr. Charmaine Nelson in the course Black Subjects in Historical and Contemporary Culture

"Decolonizing Sexuality: Rambilings of a Queer Settler on writing a History of Indigenous Sexuality" on Two-Spirit history was writen under Dr. Ned Blackhawk and Dr. Allan Downey in a jointly taught class Decolonizing History

" Queer Indigenous and Two-Spirit Marginalia: Indigenous Heteromasculinity and Settler Homonationalism" was writen under Dr. Allan Downey in an interdisciplinary Indigenous Studies Seminar

"Children of the Soil: Agriculture, Labour and "Civilization" in the Department of Indian Affairs Annual Reports 1864-1892" and "Upper Canada Land Surrenders: Head of the Lake Treaty No. 14" were written under Dr. Allan Greer for his Seminar Colonialism and Native Peoples

"“R*dmen, we are not” Redressing the McGill “R*dmen”: A Scholarly Critique of Racist Athletic Naming History at McGill University and Why It Needs to Go"​ was written under Professor Allan Downey and features primary research and digital screenshots of historic McGill Yearbooks
